Frequently Asked Questions

Isotretinoin is used to treat severe acne. It works by reducing excess oil production in the skin and helping prevent clogged pores.

It is available in different strengths, including :
Tretiva 10mg (Isotretinoin), Tretiva 20mg (Isotretinoin), Tretiva 30mg (Isotretinoin), and Tretiva 40mg (Isotretinoin).

It should only be used under medical supervision because it can cause serious side effects and severe birth defects during pregnancy.

Tretinoin is generally applied to clean, completely dry skin before moisturiser. If you have sensitive skin, your doctor may recommend using moisturiser before or after applying it.

It can take several weeks to notice an improvement. Acne may appear worse at first, but with regular use, clearer skin is usually seen over the following weeks and months.

Dryness, redness, peeling, and mild irritation are common when starting tretinoin. These effects often improve as your skin gets used to the treatment.

Some skincare products can increase irritation when used with tretinoin. Avoid combining it with harsh scrubs or strong active ingredients unless your doctor recommends it.

The instructions can vary between products. Follow the directions provided with your medicine or prescription. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Dry lips and dry skin are very common. You may also experience dry eyes, nose dryness, or increased sensitivity to sunlight. Your doctor may monitor you during treatment.

Avoid vitamin A supplements unless your doctor recommends them. It is also important to limit excessive sun exposure and use sunscreen, as your skin may become more sensitive.

Using both at the same time may increase skin dryness and irritation. Do not combine them unless your doctor specifically recommends it.

Do not stop treatment on your own. Isotretinoin is usually taken for a planned course, so continue it as prescribed unless your doctor advises you to stop.
